Cadets

Cadets is for girls aged 5-7 years (Years Prep-2) and is the first unit within the company.

At Cadets girls can earn 3 coloured Cadet stars in the order of Blue, Red and Gold. The star is the symbol chosen for this age group of girls as it symbolises the Star of Bethlehem and the journey the girls are embarking on to find Jesus. In order to earn these awards the girls can partake in a number of different achievements (chosen by their Leaders) that can be of either an educational, social and physical nature. Each of these achievements covers activities specific to the chosen topic and a spiritual component in the form of a relevant devotion. A Cadet normally completes one star each year.

Cadets also begin Brigade Knowledge, often as an Educational achievement, where they learn the basics of Brigade. This knowledge is built upon throughout their time in Brigade. Cadets can also earn an extra achievement (offered in all units) called "Operation Reachout" where the girls learn about companies in different countries around the world.

The Cadet uniform is made up of a Royal blue skort, a white overblouse with a crest on the pocket, a red sash worn on the right shoulder and under the left arm. A Royal Blue forage cap with a woven crest on a white background, white ankle socks, black or brown school shoes and a red hair tie.

In winter girls can also wear a red cardigan/windcheater and blue tights instead of socks (some companies may allow girls to wear Navy pants to company nights).

Girls are allowed to wear one pair of earrings (sleepers/studs) in their ears, a watch, one dress ring and, if applicable, a medical alert bracelet/necklace.
