In today’s high-tech, media saturated and materialistic world girls can look into countless negative mediums when trying to find meaning in their lives. So, why not offer them a positive alternative that builds up their self-esteem, develops self-confidence, builds meaningful relationships and helps them find true meaning in their lives?
Girls’ Brigade provides member church companies with:
* an interactive, relevant and effective program which is biblically based, culturally relevant and interesting,
* comprehensive training for all of their Girls’ Brigade leaders so that they are prepared and fully equipped to lead the girls in their care,
* on going support and training at a State and National level,
* Christ inspired and Christ dedicated leadership,
* and a commitment to regularly pray for the leaders and girls of their company.
Girls' Brigade is a ministry of the Church and we seek to work in conjunction with you within your community. Churches with Girls' Brigade companies play an important role through the Brigade by providing support, encouragement and prayer for leaders and the members. Chaplains are provided by the Church and are accountable for spiritual input into the lives of their leaders and can also be involved in devotions at a company level.
Girls' Brigade is a proven and effective 'side door' ministry to the church. Parents and family members become involved in Brigade activities, special Brigade nights and attend Church Parades (held at your Church). Through the relationships built, families can then be invited to attend other Church activities and be included as part of your church family.
A Girls’ Brigade company is divided into four age groups and is for girls from Prep to age 21. These groups foster all important relationships between peers and leaders and enables aged appropriate activities and discussions. These groups coupled with the weekly activities, camps and outing, assist in developing social and life skills, a personal faith, and helps the girls create long lasting friendships. Girls’ Brigade also offers older girls the opportunity to achieve their Pioneer Pin (Highest National Award), Queens Award (Highest International Award), Duke of Edinburgh Awards and be involved in six Leadership Development Courses; we aim to grow girls into leaders.
Girls in Girls' Brigade...
* Develop important life skills through achievement and badge work; covering Social, Educational and Physical aspects.
* Learn the relevance of a living faith in their lives.
* Learn how to apply Biblical Truths to their everyday lives.
* Are accepted for who they are and encouraged to develop and use their God given gifts.
* Participate in service to their church and local community making a difference in the lives of others.
* Go on Camps and outings, enjoy sleepovers and special theme nights.
* Make creative and fun craft projects.
